Is football safe?
Can a female coach high school football?
What can you do to help your child stay safe in youth sports?
Knengi Martin of USA Football is my podcast guest and she answers all of these questions–and more.
Currently on staff at Valhalla High School, Martin became the first woman in California history to be a head football coach at any level in 2010 when she took over the junior varsity program at Mission College Prep in San Luis Obispo. In 2014, she again made history when she took over the San Diego High School program mid-season, making her the first woman to be a varsity head football coach in California. A member of the gold-medal winning 2010 and 2013 U.S. Women’s National Team, Martin is entering her 12th season as a player, having played defensive end, linebacker, and tight-end. She is currently a member of the San Diego Surge.
