Will You Help Me Give a Cap To a Child Who is Battling Cancer?

July 8, 2015 by Janis

headerLogo_2x1Last week I introduced to you a great new fundraising tool called FlipGive.

Today, I’m launching  my own campaign, to show you how it works!

I’ve started a campaign to raise money for Caps for Kids, an organization that buys caps for kids undergoing cancer treatment. My goal is to raise $500 and every time you shop online through my Flipgive campaign, money will be donated towards that. Will you help me?

The mission of Caps for Kids is…

To provide every child that is diagnosed and undergoing treatment for cancer or receiving chemotherapy to treat other life threatening illnesses a cap autographed by the athlete, entertainer or other notable celebrity of their choice. To a child who has lost their hair due to chemotherapy treatments, the caps help them establish a special bond with their celebrity hero. The children gain strength from the autographed caps, and feel as though their celebrity hero is beside them in every treatment and fight in the battle against cancer.

Meet Keegan, one of the precious kids that got their cap…

Keegan was diagnosed with a bone marrow disorder, along with a rare genetic chromosome deletion. Throughout her transplant procedure, Keegan spent many days in the hospital and decorated her room with the theme of Frozen, from the popular Disney movie. It’s no surprise that Keegan’s special request was to have her cap signed by Elsa, one of the main characters in the movie. According to her family, the smile on Keegan’s face when she received her cap, as well as the happiness it has brought her, has been amazing. We’re delighted we could help Keegan say “let it go” to the challenges and journey of her bone marrow transplant and wish.
