Torchbearer: a person who leads or inspires others in working toward a valued goal.

I have met many families who are in desperate need of parenting guidance, but for one reason or another, cannot afford to get the help, both here in my local community and around the country.

Many of them are trying to get their lives back on track after losing a loved one, recovering from addiction, or getting free from sex slavery. Each one of them wants to put the past behind, and for many of them, parenting is a huge part of that.

I am seeking to partner with businesses, both locally and nationally, to provide families with the help they need and want. These businesses will serve as Torchbearers to help parents reach their parenting goals. Raising Champion Families is committed to helping parents no matter where they live. Coaching is provided in person for local clients and virtually for long-distance clients.

As a Raising Champion Families Torchbearer, you can help parents in two ways:

• Sponsor a family to go through the 6-session Parenting Toolbelt, a program that gives parents basic, but vital skills for parenting.
• Sponsor a family to get 6 sessions of Customized coaching, enabling them to find solutions for their specific parenting issues.

What Does it Cost to Sponsor a Parent?

• Sponsor a parent or couple for the full amount of a coaching program – $400
• Donate any amount to help sponsor a family for a coaching program

Check with your tax preparer as this may be a business expense.

The Parenting Tool-belt was a really great experience for us. Janis is very easy to talk to. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and is definitely passionate about helping create healthy families and parents. We really enjoyed the fact that the course was well thought out and organized. The material was easy to understand but challenging. One of our favorite moments from the class was creating our Core Values and then sitting down later with our kids to talk with them about them. It was so much fun and has been very useful since. We plan on implementing this into our residential program at Teen Challenge to equip our residents with these helpful tools so that when they go back home to their kids, they aren’t going empty handed. The Parenting Toolbelt gave me a better understanding of the importance of a family working together as a team.  I appreciated the lesson on developing Core Values within your family.  It is important to know what you value and how to instill that in your family.  This course helped me to have a better vision how to implement these values during all stages of a child’s development, even into parenting adult children.
